Pilates Reformer

Its essence is the optimal coordination of controlled movement sequences and breathing, while gymnastics tones the entire body's muscles, including the body's so-called also the internal muscles in the "power center", whose existence we don't even notice anyway, so we don't even move them voluntarily.

The power center, the abdomen, the lower back, the buttocks, the pelvic muscles, that is, the totality of all the abdominal muscles, including the deep transverse abdominis, the deep back muscles, the gluteal and inner thigh muscles, and the pelvic floor sphincter muscles. All movements start from this power center, from where the energy flows to the other muscle groups.

In order to consciously control the movements from the power center, it is necessary to activate the mentioned muscles, in such a way that we draw in our navel and "sniff" it towards our spine, "stretching with a long spine" and raise the lower ribs as if we were wearing a corset.

Of course, during the first few training sessions, proper breathing and the activation of the internal muscles require a lot of concentration.

With Pilates exercises, we will be able to consciously and separately control the muscles of the power center while using appropriate breathing techniques, with the training of which excellent posture and balance skills can be achieved.

Gymnastics is especially useful for people with spinal disorders, and optimal results can be achieved with 1 hour of training 2 times a week.
It also has an extremely beneficial effect on the nervous system, complex movements increase the ability to concentrate and reduce symptoms caused by stress.

Origin:

The machine was developed by Joseph Pilates from hospital beds during World War I, when he was sent to an internment camp and began to exercise the injured and disabled soldiers with his method.

He installed springs and ropes on some of the beds in the hospital and used them to move the patients lying there, who thus recovered faster.

About the device:

The reformer itself is more like a bed, equipped with springs and various   handrails.
These handrails allow our right and left sides to perform movements in different directions at the same time.
Exercises in the inverted position play the same role as in aerial yoga, but this type of class is about activating inner strength, seasoned with lots of active stretching.

The training sessions are varied, exciting and provide the participants with a sufficient challenge, which even complete beginners can join.
